About Becky
Hi, I'm Becky. I've spent over 10 years working with children, with a particular focus on supporting neurodivergent learners. I'm a fully qualified Specialist Dyslexia Practitioner, with specialist training in Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and PDA too.
My approach is rooted in patience, empathy and a real understanding of individual needs. I build tailored, engaging lessons that grow confidence and independence, not just academic progress. Whether we're working 1:1 or in a small group, I aim to create a positive, inclusive space where every child can thrive.

From summer 2027
A new dyslexia assessor for York
I complete my Level 7 assessor qualification in July 2027, followed by an Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) and professional-body membership. I'll then offer full diagnostic assessments locally, without the long waits families often face through school routes.
Education, Health and Care Plans in the City of York have risen by 41% over the last three years, showing just how much local families need faster access to specialist support.

What ages do you teach?

Where do sessions happen?
At my private classroom at the Water Tower, opposite Askham Bryan College, online over video, or at your home by arrangement across the York area.
Do you offer daytime and online sessions?
Yes to both. Daytime sessions work well for home-educated, flexi-schooled or EOTAS pupils and adult learners, and every session can happen in person or online.
How much does tutoring cost?
1:1 sessions are £50 an hour, online or in person. Small group sessions cost less per pupil. I'll confirm everything at your free consultation.
Do you work with schools?
Yes. I run the Targeted Literacy and Dyslexia Support Programme for schools: screening, a structured intervention block and impact reporting, with staff training available.
